Northern Ostrobothnia Energy Strategy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The energy strategy of Northern Ostrobothnia describes the main features of the region's energy production and consumption, measures for the development of the sector in the coming years and long-term guidelines for the development of the energy economy. The Energy Strategy set two high-level objectives to set a reference framework for the development of the energy economy in the region:
\u2013 The energy sector supports the competitiveness of the economy, the sustainable exploitation of the region\u2019s natural resources and the quality of life of its inhabitants.

Northern Ostrobothnia Climate Strategy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the Northern Ostrobothnia climate strategy is to cut the region's greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the European Union's and national targets 20 % by 2020 and 80 % by 2050. Increasing the share of renewable energy sources in energy production, improving energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption are key measures for the emission reduction targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
