EU Info Point brings the European Union closer to its citizens<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The local Europe Direct Information Centres (EDICs) are an important channel of interaction between the European Union and provide easy access to information about the European Union, in particular about the rights of EU citizens and the priorities and objectives of EU action. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Europe Direct Information Centres can be visited on site, but questions can also be answered by e-mail and telephone. They are involved in organising local EU-related public events, debates and seminars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They act as local contact points for the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, and cooperate with other active information brokers. They complement and support the work of the European Commission Representations and the European Parliament Information Offices at local and regional level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The impact of the European Union can be seen in the regions, for example, in the activities and results of EU-funded projects. The European Union has funded various project activities since the beginning of Finland's EU membership in 1995. The Northern Ostrobothnia EU Information Point is one part of the project package. The fourth programming period is underway for EU funding, including Europe Direct. Their cycle is slightly different, as other EU project activities started in Finland at the beginning of EU membership in 1995 and the actual Europe Direct activity in 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This page presents the activities and results of EU projects in various forms. The page contains so-called provincial success stories, which have been created in cooperation with several EU projects, various EU funding and several actors. In addition, the site has collected various written summaries of the results of EU projects, videos of EU projects and links to EU project information elsewhere online. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At European level, the network has a total of around 500 information points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
