The project develops new regional development practices and formulates funding processes. The project also organises study visits, webinars and workshops. One of the project's study visits will be organised in Northern Ostrobothnia during autumn 2026.<br><br>The project promotes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>exchange and dissemination of good practices;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>interregional learning and cooperation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>development of solutions to support the vitality of rural areas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main partner of the project consortium is the Provincia autonoma di Trento from Italy and, in addition to the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia, the consortium has partners from Poland, Bulgaria, Sweden, Switzerland and Albania.<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Future events of the project:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Upcoming events will be updated here<br>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Regional stakeholder work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each project partner has its own regional stakeholder group, which is closely involved in the direction of the project measures. The stakeholder work is open and open to all interested actors in Northern Ostrobothnia. For the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia, this means in practice the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the related development of the funding process. Rural COOP focuses its development on Axis 2 of the Renewable and Skilled Finland 2021-2027 programme: Carbon-neutral Finland, from Specific Objective 2.1. Promoting energy efficiency measures and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In the autumn of 2026, in the spirit of the Rural COOP project, the association's first theme call will be opened, and regional actors will be involved in the planning of the call.<br><br>The role of the Rural COOP project is to contribute to the chosen development tool by strengthening territorial effectiveness and cooperation within the programme. The aim is to reduce regional disparities and accelerate the green transition. The effectiveness of the programme in rural areas will be improved by allocating resources more efficiently to municipal development activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">International cooperation, study visits and sharing of good practices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rural COOP involves partners from several European countries. Exchange of information and peer-to-peer learning are at the core of the cooperation. The aim is to find new and effective solutions to the challenges of rural development, drawing on the experiences of different regions.<br><br>Peer learning will take place on several fronts during the project: webinars, joint trainings and the promotion of good practices from the project consortium's regions to European awareness. In Northern Ostrobothnia, the first success in highlighting good practices was achieved when the BIOTUTO project, funded by the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia, received the Expert Approved endorsement of good practices on Interreg Europe's project pages.<br><br>You can find out about good practices here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.interregeurope.eu\/rural-coop\/good-practices\">Rural COOP | Good practice - Interreg Europe<\/a><br><br>In addition, study visits will be organised during the project to learn about local development models and exchange experiences. One of these study visits will take place in Northern Ostrobothnia in September 2026 and the planning is already underway! We look forward to presenting our region to our international partners.
