Northern Ostrobothnia Culture Forum: Sustainability of Culture
The sustainability requirement permeates society as a whole, all its activities and actors. In Northern Ostrobothnia, we all follow the principle. Culture and cultural actors are also part of the solution. Culture offers many perspectives on sustainability and opportunities for action and influence. These have been aligned the Northern Ostrobothnia Culture Development Programme 2030 We will also discuss these themes at the Northern Ostrobothnia Cultural Forum. You are welcome to listen to expert speeches, participate in the discussion and delve deeper into the themes in the workshops.
The event is co-organised by the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia, its Cultural Cell: Cooperation and impact in cultural services project, and Arts Promotion Centre Finland.

- It all matters: Culture is involved in creating a carbon-neutral North Ostrobothnia. Organised by the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia, Canemure project (Oamk).

- Art in municipalities: Developing and co-operating the cultural activities of municipalities. Organised by Arts Promotion Centre Finland
- Community and artist – how to create socially sustainable art production in a municipality. Organized by Iin Kulttuurikauppila.
- Cultural climate change in a sustainable way. Organized by Oulu 2026.

The cultural forum will be held at the Oulu Music Centre in Tulindberg Hall (Leevi Madetojan katu 1-3).
Instructions for parking in your own car:
Parking spaces in the parking area of the main building of Oulu Music Centre are reserved for the use of the staff of the building. There are a few reel seats in front of the music centre. In addition, the Music Centre offers 40 free parking spaces just 200 metres from the main entrance of the Music Centre. The car park is located in Taka-Lyöty next to the Caritas house and has clear signs. (Address Kapellimestarinkatu 8). This opens up a guide map to the free parking area of the Music Centre's customers.

Docent Pauliina Latvala-Harvilahti examines the cultural transformation of sustainability from the perspective of future agency, locality, individuals and communities, especially cultural heritage and arts. Latvala-Harvilahti is currently working on the Suotrendi research project at the University of Eastern Finland and is part of the research community of the House of Science and Hope in Helsinki (Puistokatu 4).
Leena Paaskoski (PhD) is an associate professor of ethnology at the University of Helsinki and the University of Turku. He is currently Director of Development at the Finnish Forest Museum Lusto and Professor of Practice at the University of Jyväskylä. Paaskoski is a long-term museum professional and developer of the field. In recent years, he has been active in creating the concept of a dynamic museum in collaboration with futures researchers and forest bioeconomy foresight researchers. The concept, published in 2022, provides museums with a way to strengthen their societal impact, especially in accelerating ecological reconstruction and the sustainability transformation.
Anu-Maarit Moilanen (M.Sc.(Econ.)) is the CEO of Oulu Theatre. Together with his partner's artistic director Alma Lehmuskallio, he has developed the theatre's operations towards a more equal and accessible art organisation. Especially the development of audience work, sales and marketing are close to Moilanen's heart. The theatre’s slogan ‘A boldly renewable theatre for all’ has materialised, for example, through new concepts of audience work, the development of artistic content and the strengthening of diversity.
Jetta Huttunen (FT) is a cultural producer and cultural researcher from Oulu. He works in Ii as a responsible producer at the Arts Centre KulttuuriKauppila, as well as as a project manager in the Kripa project and the Northern AiR residency network. The municipality of Ii is known as an art keeper and an ambitious environmental and climate municipality. In his work at KulttuuriKauppila, Huttunen is implementing international art productions, such as Art Ii Biennale, and developing cultural well-being and residency activities. Huttunen has defended his dissertation on participation in media culture under the title Self-produced film production as a cultural production and a form of participation in media culture.
Julian Owusu She is a dancer and dance teacher. It's called hip-hop or street dance. In addition to dance, she also makes graffiti, acts as a DJ, performs rap and expresses herself in writing, for example, by writing poems. He has taught hip-hop at the Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki and Oulu University of Applied Sciences. As a provincial artist and in various projects, he has worked especially with young people, offering them the opportunity to express themselves through hip-hop. Owusu has also written various articles on, for example, hip-hop pedagogy.
