The Regional Development and Funding Unit implements the regional programme and is responsible for drawing up and updating the implementation plan for the regional programme. The Regional Assembly of Oulu Region acts as an Intermediate Body in the Innovation and Skills in Finland 2021–2027 EU Regional and Structural Policy Programme and the Leverage from the EU 2014-2020 Structural Funds Programme. The Regional Assembly of Oulu Region also provides national AIKO and AKKE funding.
