The Northern Ostrobothnia Prize is awarded for life's work for the benefit of Northern Ostrobothnia or for work that has made Northern Ostrobothnia known and strengthened its identity. The Northern Ostrobothnia Prize was established in 2004 by a regional government headed by Regional Counsellor Pauli Saapung. The Northern Ostrobothnia Prize is a miniature sculpture designed by sculptor Sanna Koivisto that symbolizes the region of Northern Ostrobothnia.
