The North Ostrobothnia Information Centre organises a webinar: The issue of disinformation (Teams event)
A webinar on disinformation will be held on Thursday 25 March at 6 p.m. The speakers will be Janne ‘Rysky’ Riiheläinen, a communications and security policy professional, non-fiction writer, and Markku Mantila, Editor-in-Chief of Ilkka-Pohjalainen, former Head of Communications at the Government and former Head of the NATO Centre of Excellence for Strategic Communications. Disinformation is an important issue for the EU, as the exposure of citizens to large-scale disinformation, both misleading and even misinformation, is a major challenge for Europe. The foundation of open and democratic societies in Europe is a public debate in which citizens who have been fairly and transparently informed can express their opinions and influence through free and fair political processes. Anyone who wishes to participate in the webinar is welcome. The estimated duration of the event is just over an hour, and at the end of the event time is reserved for audience questions, which can be asked directly to Janne and Markku via Teams. The event is designed especially for those participating in the municipal elections 2021 or otherwise interested in municipal elections or disinformation and its side effects. You can participate by clicking on the following link: http://bit.ly/webinar_250321 Click to go to a page in your browser where you can choose either to join in your browser or download the desktop application. If you have the Teams app on your computer, the meeting will open automatically.
