Meeting press release of the regional cooperation group
The meeting of the North Ostrobothnia Regional Cooperation Group was held on Monday 31 October in Oulu. At the beginning of the meeting, Mikko Vähä-Sipilä, Director of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, presented Finland's sustainable growth programme and the allocation of its funding to Northern Ostrobothnia. Funding for Finland's sustainable growth programme comes from the EU's Recovery Instrument. In accordance with the objectives of the Government Programme, Finland's sustainable growth programme supports ecologically, socially and economically sustainable growth. The programme accelerates competitiveness, investment, upskilling and research, development and innovation. Recovery funding promotes the renewal of the industrial structure and the competitive advantage of Finnish companies based on sustainable solutions.
Renewing and competent Finland 2021-2027 Regional funding plans for the EU's Regional and Structural Policy Programme 2022-2024
The financial plans for 2022-2024 (JTF, ERDF and ESF+) for the EU's Regional and Structural Policy Programme 2021-2027 were approved. The Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia will transfer EUR 0.5 million (JTF+State) from its 2023 JTF allocation powers to the JTF Framework of Northern Finland. The development projects of the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia follow the maximum support levels (ERDF and JTF) in order to make full use of the funding and due to EU recovery funding. The level of support for transport infrastructure projects shall not exceed 50 %.
In brief

- Multiannual performance agreements have been drawn up for the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for the 2020-2023 strategy period. The Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment revises and updates the provisional performance targets for 2023-2025 presented in the performance target document in 2020 and adds the provisional performance targets for 2026.
