Meeting press release of the regional cooperation group

The last meeting of the year of the North Ostrobothnia Regional Cooperation Group was held on Thursday 22 December 2022 in Oulu.

The following projects were presented at the meeting of the Cooperation Group:

  • Of the flowers: Presentation of the project on cultural well-being and inclusion in suburbs and online. The project will be presented by Sami Hänninen, Project Manager and Vesa Ilola, Chair of Culture Power Station
  • Improving the transport routes for wind power transports in the Port of Raahe/ERDF project will be presented by Timo Mäkikyrö, Director of Transport and Infrastructure, Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Northern Ostrobothnia.

calls for applications and deadlines for the new and competent Finland 2021-2027 programme

  • Fixed-term application for business development grant from 9 January to 28 February 2023, ERDF
  • Continuous application for operating environment development grants and business networked research projects at jointly agreed processing dates, JTF. As soon as possible in early 2023.
  • Continuous application for business development grants, JTF. As soon as possible in early 2023.
  • The Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia opens the ERDF application period in early January and ends on 28 February 2023. Specific objectives 1.3, 2.2 and 3.1 are open.
  • The ELY Centre opens ESF+ and ESF+ calls for sustainable urban development in mid-January and runs until 20 March.
  • The Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia and the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment have prepared a continuous application period for JTF in 2023 with three processing days: 31 March, 31 August and 30 November The days are the same for the ERDF and ESF-type development projects of the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia and the ELY, as well as for the ELY's operating environment support projects (TYT) and business networked research projects. There is a continuous search for business subsidies.
  • The Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia has prepared the JTF application process for Northern Finland together with the Regional Council of Lapland and the Regional Council of Kainuu. Details of the call for applications are set out in the Annex.


Corporate finance strategy and policy of the financing unit of the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Northern Ostrobothnia, JTF

The regional cooperation group approved the corporate finance strategy and guidelines of the financing unit of the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Northern Ostrobothnia with regard to the Just Transition Fund (JTF). The corporate finance strategy has been drawn up to be used in the evaluation of grant applications and it is used to support decision-making in the region of Northern Ostrobothnia for projects funded by the Just Transition Fund. The purpose of the publication of the strategy is to increase the transparency of decision-making and to facilitate the work of those planning to apply for a grant. In addition, the strategy will improve coordination between national business support funding and regional development fund and EAFRD business support in Northern Finland.

Provincial cooperation group supports projects to be funded under Finland's Structural Funds programme for sustainable growth and work 2014-2020

The final decision on the financing of the project is made by the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia or the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Northern Ostrobothnia.

In the project, NUVE-LAB's chassis dynamometer automation system will acquire a measurement interface for the machines being tested.
