The project applied for by Metsähallitus is in favour of funding
The Secretariat of the Provincial Cooperation Group supports the project applied for by Metsähallitus Developing climate-resilient terrain signposting in the Syöte tourist area Funded by the EU's Regional and Structural Policy Programme for a Sustainable Renewable and Skilled Finland 2021-2027. The total cost of the project is EUR 67 078 and the requested ERDF and state funding is EUR 53 550.
As a result of climate change, the winter season in Syöte will be shortened and the focus of nature tourism in the summer season will increase. Especially in the winter season, challenging weather conditions and sudden weather phenomena will increase. Changes in humidity, rainfall and snow are challenging the built infrastructure. These factors of change must also be taken into account in the development of guidance solutions. A climate-resilient signposting plan covering all nature routes (hiking routes, cycling routes, quality, winter routes, water hiking routes and snowmobile tracks) in the entire Syöte tourist area and its immediate surroundings will be drawn up in the project. After the project, investment funding will be applied for the signposting and the implementation will be put out to tender.
