Meeting press release of the secretariat of the regional cooperation group, 14 December 2021
The secretariat of the North Ostrobothnia Regional Cooperation Group met on Tuesday, 14 December 2021. The meeting discussed, among other things, the regional financing plan of the EU's regional and structural policy programme and its funding priorities, the presentation of Northern Finland's Corporate Finance Strategy and Guidelines for 2021-2027, the review of the preparation of the Just Transition Plan for Northern Ostrobothnia (JTF) and the presentation of the funding needs for the 2014-2020 programming period.
Renewing and skilled Finland 2021-2027 Regional funding plan for 2021 and 2022 of the EU's Regional and Structural Policy Programme
The Regional Financing Plan of the EU Regional and Structural Policy Programme and its funding priorities describe the allocation by priority axis, specific objective and authority for the next two years on the basis of the regional angular number indicated by the Managing Authority.
The Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia and the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Northern Ostrobothnia have prepared a financing plan to be submitted to the Regional Cooperation Group (MYR) for approval.
Corporate Finance Strategy and Guidelines for Northern Finland 2021-2027
The Corporate Finance Strategy and Guidelines for Northern Finland 2021-2027 and the more detailed regional selection criteria for scoring the company's development grant projects during the programming period Renewable and Skilled Finland 2021-2027 have been prepared for use in the evaluation of grant applications and are used to support decision-making in the regions of North Ostrobothnia, Lapland and Kainuu. The purpose of the publication of the strategy is to increase the transparency of decision-making and to facilitate the work of those planning to apply for a grant. In addition, the strategy will improve coordination between national business support funding and regional development fund and EAFRD business support in Northern Finland.
The Secretariat of the Provincial Cooperation Group approved the guidelines for its part and transferred them to the Provincial Cooperation Group (MYR) for approval.
Preparation of the EU’s regional and structural policy 2021-2027: Preparation of the Just Transition Plan for Northern Ostrobothnia (JTF)
At the meeting, the state of play of the preparation of the Just Transition Plan for Northern Ostrobothnia (JTF) was heard. The Northern Ostrobothnia Transition Plan is well under preparation and has been submitted to the informal preliminary review of the European Commission by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment as one of the three plans. In this context, the different Commission departments will provide feedback to support the further preparation of the transition plans for all JTF regions in Finland.
Financial needs for the 2014-2020 programming period
The Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia and the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Northern Ostrobothnia have jointly prepared a proposal on the authorisation needs for the 2014-2020 programming period and propose the following to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment:
