State of play of the EU's regional and structural policy for the 2021-2027 programming period and EAFRD
The secretariat of the Northern Ostrobothnia Provincial Cooperation Group met remotely on 22 September 2021. The meeting began with a briefing on the state of play of the EU’s regional and structural policy programming period 2021-2027, as well as topical issues of the CAP27 plan.
Results of the project call of the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Northern Ostrobothnia, which ended on 9 September 2021
The application period for the ERDF and ESF projects of the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Northern Ostrobothnia ended on 9 September 2021. A total of 16 applications were submitted. Applications were submitted for a total amount of €4,373,619.
The Secretariat of the regional Cooperation Group supports the following projects to be funded under the Finnish Structural Funds Programme for Leverage from the EU 2014-2020:
Exploring the opportunities of the circular economy business in the economic area formed by Siikalatva and its surrounding municipalities
Applicant: Municipality of Siikalatva
The project investigates the business opportunities of local recycling and recovery of waste and side streams generated in the economic area's business, industry, trade and agriculture, by mapping the volumes of different waste fractions (waste streams) and calculating their business potential. The aim of the project is to significantly improve the efficiency of material recycling in industry and agriculture and to create new business.
Total cost: 107 376 €
ERDF and State funding requested: 85 900 €
Knowledge-led Ruka-Kuusamo
Applicant: Northeast Finland Development Company Naturpolis Oy
The aim of the project is to develop the overall management of the tourism area through digitalisation and knowledge management. Decision-making, customer experience and quality management, as well as strategic planning, are developed by improving information management processes, data analysis, sharing and communication.
Total cost: 168 120 €
ERDF and State funding requested: 134 490 €
LIKE - Business from the Circular Economy
Applicant: City of Oulu, BusinessOulu
The aim is to develop clusters for circular economy companies: one large cluster with a few more specific thematic groups, such as water management, energy solutions, digital maintenance and recycling.
Total cost: € 272 964
ERDF and State funding requested: € 218 370
Change management, ‘Four-legged growth clover’
Applicant: Nivala-Haapajärvi region NIHAK ry
The project will map the situation of companies in the region and the specific support they need to cope with the pandemic. The aim is to increase the resilience of companies through the capability of processes, so that they can continue to adapt their operations in changing situations.
Total cost: € 350 985
Aid requested: € 280 788
The secretariat of the regional cooperation group does not support the following projects to be funded under the Finnish Structural Funds Programme for Sustainable Growth and Jobs 2014-2020:
- In-situ corrosion laboratory to extend the lifespan of steel applications research, applicant University of Oulu
- In-situ corrosion laboratory to extend the lifespan of steel applications in infrastructure, applicant University of Oulu
- North Ostrobothnia Industrial Hemp Cluster, applicant: Municipality of Tyrnävä
The next meetings of the MYR Secretariat will be held: 18.10.2021, 16.11.2021 and 14.12.2021.
