Decisions of the regional Cooperation Group Secretariat
The Secretariat of the regional Cooperation Group supports the following projects to be funded under the Finnish Structural Funds Programme for Leverage from the EU 2014-2020:

The aim of the project is to design and implement virtual and simulation learning environments and interactive hybrid learning solutions that enable the collection of learning analytics data. The project builds solutions that enable phenomenon-based learning and take into account the needs of the field of education, as well as multidisciplinary virtual operating environments that simulate working life.
From the production of energy peat to the production of biochar – eBio / ERDF

The project explores the possibility of building a national biocarbon ecosystem. Resources released as a result of the shutdown of energy peat production and companies threatened with closure can be partly transferred to the production of biochar. New technologies and solutions enable small and cost-effective units that produce biochar that can be utilised for local needs in, for example, the steel industry or agriculture.
Mäntyselä road connection / ERDF

The aim of the project, which was established to enable investments in the new Mäntyselä industrial area in the city of Kuusamo, is to build a road from highway 20 to the industrial area. The project involves the construction of Säynäjäjokientie and junction lanes, the implementation of drainage structures and road lighting, and the paving of the road.

The aim is to find solutions to improve the profitability of companies, accelerate the adoption of new technologies and promote energy efficiency in the region. Electric and combustion-engine-powered commercial vehicles run convergent routes under the same conditions and collect comparable data on energy efficiency and emission reductions.

The project studies and develops robotised production methods suitable for the needs of the metal industry, as well as the utilisation of collaborative robotics and remote control systems. In the project, the aim of the PrintoCent research parties is to strengthen the regional development and manufacturing capabilities of rapid diagnostics in order to meet the increased challenges and testing needs of healthcare. The aim is to create a local operating environment for rapid diagnostics manufacturing (OuluDiHub).
Water and climate impacts of mixed wetlands in areas abandoned from peat production (MoVeTu) / ERDF

The aim is to study the water and climate loads of mixed wetlands built in former peat production areas and to examine the loads from the point of view of the age of the wetland, other land uses in the area and the technical characteristics of the built wetland in the North Ostrobothnia region, taking into account the special characteristics of the area.

The aim is to support the inclusion and well-being of fathers of families with children and to develop low-threshold working methods linked to family service structures. The quality and results of the support provided to the target group will be improved by strengthening the skills of people working in family services.

The aim is to reach people in vulnerable situations and at risk of social exclusion and to develop for them, together with a multi-actor network, a lifestyle guidance model that supports their work and functional capacity, thereby promoting their employment opportunities. In addition, the aim is to improve the competence of rehabilitative work and social rehabilitation professionals in lifestyle counselling and the promotion of nutritional health.
No support for one project
The secretariat of the regional cooperation group does not support the project Tourism ecosystem in rural areas of Northern Ostrobothnia to be funded under the Finnish Structural Funds Programme for Sustainable Growth and Jobs 2014-2020. The applicant for the project is the Good Mind Distributors Association.
