Regional Assembly meeting press release
The Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia held a meeting in Oulu, ODL Wegelius Hall on Monday 12 December 2022.
The regional council granted Pauli Harju resignation from the position of regional director. The last day of office in Harju is 31 March 2023.
Budget approved, 4% increase in municipal contributions
The Regional Council approved the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia's economic and operational plan for 2023-2025 and the budget for 2023. It was decided to increase municipal contributions by 4%. In the 2023 budget of the Regional Council of North Ostrobothnia, the operating revenue amounts to EUR 6 192 236. Of this, the member municipalities' contribution is EUR 3 628 976. The result for the financial year, after depreciation in the budget year, is EUR 0. The surplus/deficit for the financial year is EUR 0.
Amendments to the Administrative Regulation of the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia
The Regional Council approved amendments to the Administrative Regulation of the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia. The Northern Ostrobothnia Youth Council was abolished by deleting the provisions concerning the Youth Council and its rules of procedure. In addition, the Administrative Regulation was amended so that the chairperson and vice-chairpersons of the Northern Ostrobothnia Welfare Region Youth Council have the right to attend and speak at the meetings of the Regional Council for the duration of the cooperation agreement.
Tiina Hanhikorpi appointed as a member of the Provincial Government
Mirka Väyrynen was granted resignation from the provincial government. Tiina Hanhikorpi (PS, Raahe) was elected to the Provincial Government for the remainder of her term of office.
Mirka Väyrynen formed a new council group
The provincial council approved the resignation of the councillor Mirka Väyrynen from the council group of the Finns Party and approved the councillor's declaration for the formation and name of the new council group of the League of Freedom.
Changes in the provincial council
- At its meeting on 7 June 2022, Kärsämäki Municipal Council granted Ilkka Saare a resignation from the deputy seat of the Regional Council of the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia and elected Antti Tiikkainen as the new deputy member of the Regional Council.
- The late Jaakko Kuusisto (Green) has served as a deputy member of Paula Himanen (Green) in the regional council. In its meeting on 20 June 2022, Oulu City Council elected Heikki Kontturi as a new alternate member of the Regional Council to replace Jaakko Kuusisto for the remainder of his term of office.
