75 municipal representatives appointed to the Regional Assembly of Oulu Region
The Assembly of Members of the Regional Assembly of Oulu Region has today elected a Regional Assembly for the municipal term 2021-2025. The highest decision-making Regional Assembly of the Regional Assembly of Oulu Region has 75 members, who are members of the Regional Assemblys of the municipalities they represent.
The county Regional Assembly has 30 representatives from Oulu. Raahe received 4 representatives, Kempele, Kuusamo and Ylivieska each 3 representatives. The other municipalities each received one or two representatives. Compared to the previous period, there are one fewer representatives. According to the Treaty, each member will receive one representative for each 7000 inhabitants. The calculation is based on the population at the turn of the year preceding the municipal elections.
The centre continues as the largest party
Based on the results of the municipal elections, the Centre Party held its largest party position in the Regional Assembly in cooperation with 27 seats. The National Coalition Party and the Finns Party both have 12 seats in the Regional Assembly. The Left Alliance has nine seats, the Social Democrats eight, the Greens six and the Christian Democrats one.
The the Board of the Regional Assembly and the chairmen of the decision-making bodies will be appointed in November
The Regional Assembly convenes on 8 November and elects the the Board of the Regional Assembly. The the Board of the Regional Assembly will continue in cooperation with 13 members.
The terms of office of the Regional Assembly and the the Board of the Regional Assembly will start later than usual, as the COVID-19 pandemic delayed municipal elections.
