Northern Ostrobothnia's productivity developed better than average
In the private sector of Northern Ostrobothnia, the region is ranked 2nd in terms of productivity and 6th in all industries, according to the Productivity by Region report. The productivity of work has an impact on the future of industries and their structure. In Northern Ostrobothnia, the weight of processing has been exceptionally high, even though the structural change in the electronics industry has shifted the focus of industries towards services. In turn, the young population structure of the region is visible in education and social and health services, which have accounted for a higher than average share of value added in the regional economy.
