The business environments of the employment areas at the heart of the TE2024 final seminar on 16 October – 17 October 2024, Kuusamo
The TE2024 project, managed by the Regional Assembly of Oulu Region, has supported municipalities in the Northern Ostrobothnia region in preparing for the transfer of employment services. The project's expert service procurements have been used to carry out baseline analyses of the municipalities' employment services resources in euros as well as of the personnel providing employment services.
In addition, the effects of the reform on municipal finances, municipal risk management and support for municipalities in the service design of employment services have been studied.
At the end of this year, the TE2024 project of the Regional Assembly of Oulu Region will organise a final seminar at Kuusamotalo 16. –17 October 2024. The event is aimed at the executives of the municipalities of Northern Ostrobothnia, as well as organisations producing new employment services and their personnel.
The programme of the seminar includes, among other things, the effects of demographic change on the functioning of the employment areas, the effects of the reform on the municipal economy, and the impact of the mobility and employment of higher education students on the vitality of the regions.
During the second day, the expectations of young entrepreneurs about new employment services, the role of the wellbeing services county as a promoter and partner of cooperation, and the status reports of the employment counties will be reviewed. In addition, the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment and the Employment and Economic Development Office present their perspectives on employment services. Finally, the results of the project are presented.
Based on the feedback, municipalities have benefited greatly from the TE2024 project's expert service procurements. In the comments, it has been stated, among other things, that the procurement of services has reached the core of the preparations. Expert services will be available to municipalities until the end of November.
– It is particularly gratifying that the events organised by the project have attracted more than 1 000 participants from the municipalities in the region. The events have provided everyone in cooperation in cooperation with an excellent opportunity to network and get to know the contents of employment services," says Project Manager Jouni Korhonen.
The TE2024 project for Northern Ostrobothnia runs from 13 May 2022 to 31 December 2024. The total budget of the project is EUR 500 000. The joint contribution of the municipalities amounts to approximately 10 % of the total budget.
