Funding was requested for AKKE projects that focus on supporting regional RDI activities. Projects funded under this call should meet at least one of the following criteria: - the project supports research, development and innovation activities of SMEs and thus improves the innovation capacity of SMEs - the project strengthens the innovation ecosystem of the region - the project expands the number of parties involved in RDI activities The maximum amount available to fund projects received in the application round is EUR 448 000. The total number of project applications was 14 and the total amount requested was approximately EUR 950 000.

The funding for supporting the sustainable growth and vitality of the regions (AKKE) will be used, in accordance in cooperation in cooperation with the decisions of the Regional Assemblys, for projects promoting the implementation of the regional programme and the Government's regional development decision. This funding may be used, for example, for small-scale development, experimentation and study projects based on regional strengths and specialisation. The draft Interreg Aurora programme 2021-2027 and the Environmental Impact Assessment (SEA) have been published. Both can be found on the program's website. The public consultation on the programme has started at the same time. You can participate in the consultation by replying to the online questionnaire by 20 May 2021. The new Karelia CBC 2021-2027 programme funds Finnish-Russian cross-border cooperation. The programme has selected a policy objective, the implementation of which requires the development of a multi-sectoral cross-border strategy for the programme area, both in the cultural and tourism sectors. The strategies are prepared by the Euregio Karelia cooperation area in cooperation between the regions of Northern Ostrobothnia, North Karelia and Kainuu and the Russian Republic of Karelia.   To support the preparation of the strategies, we will conduct a survey of stakeholders on the most important themes of tourism and culture in cross-border cooperation. Finland's sustainable growth programme is made together in cooperation in cooperation with the regions. The ministerial regional tour started in Oulu on 21 September 2020. In the budget debate, the Government outlined Finland's sustainable growth programme, which will be drawn up to implement the objectives of the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility funding. The programme will be implemented in cooperation between national and regional stakeholders. As part of the preparations, ministerial-led regional events will be organised, the first of which was held in Oulu. The regional tour will hear the views of regional stakeholders, regional project ideas on reforms and investments, and discuss what EU recovery funding should be used for – how Finland will recover and get on a sustainable growth path. The application period for the European European European European European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) (ERDF) (ERDF) (ERDF) (ERDF) ended on 4 September 2020 in Northern Ostrobothnia. By the deadline, 30 applications were received by the Regional Assembly of Oulu Region.  Four applications were received for the policy area Competitiveness of SMEs and 26 for the policy area Production and utilization of new knowledge and expertise. A total of EUR 7 758 064 was requested for development projects in the applications. The funding available is approximately EUR 1.5 million.
