Current affairs of the EU's regional and structural policy for the 2021-2027 programming period and the EAFRD
The Secretariat of the Northern Ostrobothnia Cooperation Group held a hybrid meeting on Tuesday, 17 August 2021. At the beginning of the meeting, the topical issues of the 2021-2027 EU regional and structural policy programming period and the CAP27 plan were heard.
REACT-EU funding allocation / funding authorisation in review
In March 2021, the regional Cooperation Group approved the implementation plan for the regional Programme and the related financing plan for the Structural Fund Programme for Leverage from the EU 2014-2020 for 2021-2022. The financial plan was prepared for REACT-EU funding under the Recovery Package. The Regional Assembly of Northern Pojamaa received EUR 6.62 million in ERDF funding and the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment received EUR 12.217 million in ERDF funding and EUR 8.074 million in ESF funding. In June 2021, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment submitted a second authorisation decision granting the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of Northern Ostrobothnia a new authorisation of EUR 3.5 million for business subsidies to be used in Northern Finland.
In the REACT-EU call, which was open in spring 2021, 53 ERDF applications were submitted to the Regional Assembly of Oulu Region for a total amount of approximately EUR 19 million. in cooperation with regard to the REACT-EU funds for Northern Ostrobothnia, it has been decided that the situation of tying and demand will be reviewed on 1 September 2021. If the granting authority cannot be used for a financial instrument, frame transfers are made in such a way that all the funds will be used in Northern Ostrobothnia.

Oulu Innovation Alliance 2021-2027 launched in cooperation with fundingfather
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment has granted the City of Oulu €500,000 in national innovation ecosystem funding. The funding will be used to implement the work packages agreed by the Oulu Innovation Alliance. The total cost of the project is €835,000.
