European Week of Regions and Cities tackles new challenges for the EU
The European Week of Regions and Cities will take place from 10 to 13 October this year. The thematic highlights of this year's event will be the green transition, territorial cohesion, digital transition and youth empowerment.
The event is an arena for political debate, giving regions and cities the opportunity to make their voice heard in EU decision-making.

Workshop ‘Kick-start for Digitalisation via Global Crisis: Partnering for Resilient Connectivity for People’ is part of the Week of Regions programme.
Europe has the opportunity to be a frontrunner in harnessing the deployment and digitalisation of digitalisation and in developing and utilising the wireless technologies of the future. The Wireless ICT Partnership aims to increase Europe's competitiveness in this task. Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Tytti Tuppurainen will participate in the workshop. The event will be moderated by Rantakokko from the University of Oulu.

Annual Regional Policy Event
The European Week of Regions and Cities is the largest annual event focusing on regional policy. At this annual four-day event, regions and cities showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs and implement the European Union's cohesion policy. It is also an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
Organised for the first time in 2003, the event has evolved over the years into a unique communication and networking platform bringing together regions and cities, their political representatives and officials, as well as experts and researchers from all over Europe. The theme week has been used in many ways to disseminate information on how regions and cities use EU‑ funding to improve citizens' daily lives.
Most events are also available online, as the events are organised extensively as webinars and hybrid implementations.
