The 5th round of applications for sustainable urban development opens on 5 April 2024
The Regional Assembly of Oulu Region, in cooperation in cooperation with the City of Oulu, is launching an ERDF project application for the implementation of the ecosystem agreement signed between the State and the City of Oulu. The content of the Oulu ecosystem agreement consists of the strategic focus areas and spearhead programmes of the Oulu Innovation Alliance for 2021-2027.
The projects under the ecosystem agreement support the formation of business clusters and ecosystems in selected target sectors, identify the needs and services of the companies belonging to them, promote longer-term concrete goals and broad entities in line with the target sectors and spearhead programmes of the Oulu Innovation Alliance strategy, and provide added value from digital to the everyday services and built environment of residents.
The application round is open 5.4. – 31 May 2024. Priority axis 1 is open for this call. Innovative Finland and its specific objectives 1.1: Improving research and innovation capacities and the uptake of advanced technologies, 1.2: Exploiting the benefits of digitalisation for citizens, businesses and public administrations and 1.3: Improving the growth and competitiveness of SMEs. The project to be funded must be: The Renewable and Skilled Finland 2021-2027 Programme, the Northern Ostrobothnia Smart Specialisation Strategy 2021-2025 (for projects under specific objective 1.1.) and In accordance with the ecosystem agreement between the City of Oulu and the State.
In the project application process, the maximum amount of ERDF funding for sustainable urban development is 1,000,000 euros. The maximum amount of support funding is 60 % the total cost of the project. The City of Oulu has prepared to fund up to 30 projects under the ecosystem agreement from the City of Oulu Development Fund. % financial contribution from the total budget of the project. The required self-financing rate for applicants is at least 10 % the total budget of the project.
The next application round is planned to be opened in spring 2025. At that time, approximately EUR 1,000,000 of ERDF funding will also be applied for, provided that the Government makes a decision on the allocation of funds related to the application to the region.
