Municipal elections bring changes to the composition of the Regional Regional Assembly and Government of the Regional Assembly of Oulu Region
According to the municipal elections, the new provincial council of Northern Ostrobothnia has 27 members, the National Coalition Party and the Finns Party both have 12 members. The Left Alliance has nine members, the Social Democrats eight, the Greens six and the Christian Democrats one. The Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia has a total of 75 members.
Based on the proportional distribution of political parties, the new provincial government would have the following composition: The Centre would have six members, the National Coalition Party and the Finns Party would both have two members. The Left Alliance, the Social Democrats and the Greens would each have one member. In total, the provincial government has 13 members.
In Northern Ostrobothnia, the centre received 58,248 votes and its percentage of votes was 34.3 per cent. The Coalition Party received 26,881 votes (15.8 %) and the Finns Party 25,856 votes (15.2 %). The Left Alliance, the Social Democrats, the Greens, the other Democrats and the Christian Democrats followed.
As the largest party in the region, the Centre of Finland initiates seat negotiations for the elected officials of the provincial organisations of Northern Ostrobothnia.
