New Expert Group on Urban Mobility
A key objective of the New Expert Group on Urban Mobility is to ensure a more direct involvement of the local and regional level in the formulation of EU policy recommendations. The European Commission is reforming the EGUM Group and has therefore made an open call to local and regional authorities and sectoral organisations. The renewed expert group will focus on topics such as public transport, accessibility, shared mobility, SUMP projects and connectivity in cities and regions.
The application process is now open, with 20 seats reserved for LRA representatives. Priority will be given to cities with more than 10,000 inhabitants, but other cities and regions can also express interest.

Information needed on the local implementation of the Intelligent Cities Challenge - Green Deal
The Intelligent Cities Challenge survey aims to better understand and identify ways to support the implementation of the Green Deal locally. The survey focuses on activities that cities are already carrying out. It also focuses on the challenges and benefits that the Green Deal brings to each region.
The results will feed into future activities of the ICC, the update of the LGD plan and the development of a policy guide on LGDs. The survey must be answered by 10 September. You can get the survey here.
The Smart Specialisation Plan and the Regional Programme guide EU policy-making in Northern Ostrobothnia
The documents guiding the policies and development related to the European Union in Northern Ostrobothnia are the Smart Specialisation Strategy for Northern Ostrobothnia and the Regional Programme for Northern Ostrobothnia and the key projects highlighted therein.
The objective of smart specialisation is to create innovation ecosystems in the regions that enable the renewal of businesses. Cooperation between research and education decision-making bodies and companies to generate and implement new innovations is one of the pillars of the strategy. It is also important to complement local know-how by working together in cooperation in cooperation with others. Partners can be found in their own country or region, but increasingly in international networks.
