The aim of the project is to secure the national and international competitiveness of companies and businesses in the region, as well as the availability of skilled labour. The aim is also to enable companies to be willing and able to invest in the region.
The availability of skilled labour, the willingness of companies to invest and other activities require fast and reliable transport connections to the region.
Due to the change in the operating environment, the practices and strategies of air transport operators have changed and are still changing. This needs to be answered by actors in Northern Finland.
The project is a joint project of the Regional Councils of North Ostrobothnia and Kainuu. The project will be managed by the Regional Council of Northern Ostrobothnia and will run from 1 November 2022 to 31 December 2023. The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Regional Councils of Northern Ostrobothnia and Kainuu. The total estimated cost of the project is EUR 166 600, of which EUR 116 620 is financed by the ERDF.
