In Northern Ostrobothnia, agriculture, transport and the energy use of peat are important themes in climate work. More detailed studies have now been prepared on the themes, which will be taken into account in the preparation of the climate road map and its step signs.

- Explanation: Sustainable use of agricultural bio-based fractions and side-streams and the impact of measures in Northern Ostrobothnia – Scenario review.
The study has produced numerical data on the following topics:
sustainable use of bio-based fractions and by-products,
– the climate impact of the measures,
- the impact on costs and yields; and
Potential in the North.
Three emission scenarios were created for agriculture in Northern Ostrobothnia.

2. Explanation: Climate road map of Northern Ostrobothnia, low-emission traffic.
The study makes it possible to assess the impact of the propulsion distribution of newly registered vehicles on CO2 emissions from road transport until 2040.

3. Explanation: Development of the energy use of peat in Northern Ostrobothnia, impacts on the wood supply chain and greenhouse gas emissions. The study looked at peat until 2035.
current uses and changes in consumption in different market situations,
− the impact of the changes on the use of peat substitute biomass fractions, on biomass adequacy and on biomass supply chains,
− the effects of the changes on greenhouse gas emissions in the region.
