Visits to educational institutions
You can request an EU information point to visit a school or educational institution. Visits are arranged either remotely or on site, according to your wishes.
Visits with educational institutions can take the form of EU-related lessons, presentations and workshops. The EU Info Point can also be invited to participate in events organised by educational institutions, either to organise a programme or to host an EU Info Point.
The North Ostrobothnia EU Information Point is interested in cooperation with young people, so you can also suggest other possible forms of cooperation for us! Feel free to contact us and let's think about a suitable form of implementation together.
Educational materials
Yooki's adventures provide basic information about the EU for primary school-age children
The Council of the EU has published a new free education package designed to be used in primary school.
The material is intended for schoolchildren between the ages of 7 and 9 and provides basic information about the EU through the adventures of the young firefly Yook. Package (which can be downloaded this) consists of complementary content, including:
- story Yooki and the Union of the Forest, on the creation of the EU through illustrations and comparisons
- training book Learn with Yooki, which tells about history and events through the parables used in the story and includes games to help children learn in a fun way
- Map of the EU for exercises included in the exercise book
- Digital Teacher's Guide Support for teachers
Teachers can order a printed copy by filling in this the Form. Teachers can also subscribe to news from the Council of the EU on new educational material by joining the mailing list.

Help with teaching Ukrainian-speaking students
Finnish-Ukrainian pictogram booklets are an important tool for children and adults who have recently moved to Finland and do not yet know the language. Booklets can help with practical matters with Ukrainians and language learning. Pictograms are designed for children and those working with children.
You can download the pictograms to your computer and print them out. Pictograms are found here.
